New Book Information From Lori Avocato

Filed under: Book Review — Susan Hilliard at 1:58 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2006

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that my anthology comes out October 31, 2006! The title is “Sugarplums & Scandals.” It’s a combination of six authors short stories. Pauline Sokol stars once again in a medical insurance fraud investigation in “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.”

Here’s a review:

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH – Lori Avocato
When Pauline Sokol reads an article in the news paper about an elderly gentleman, Mr. Niski, getting swindled out of his dentures, so she sets out to investigate. Her friend Jagger volunteers himself to help out. Can Pauline concentrate on the investigation while watching the hunky Jagger? Can she get to the bottom of the mystery and have a Merry Christmas or will this be a Christmas she never forgets?

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH had me laughing and sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next.

SUGARPLUMS AND SCANDAL is the perfect read.

Visit The All New Shell Factory In North Fort Myers, FL

Filed under: Excellent Websites — Susan Hilliard at 12:26 am on Wednesday, September 13, 2006

From the: Shell Factory

Sixty-seven years ago, a young couple who’d had enough of frigid winters in the north moved to Florida and began selling seashells and shell crafts from their porch in Bonita Springs. The endeavor grew into a large souvenir shop that was destroyed by fire in 1952. Undaunted, the owners rebuilt further up on the Tamiami Trail (Route 41). Destruction from hurricane Donna in 1960, the construction of I-75 that took the majority of traffic seven miles away, and another fire in 1980 could not stop the reign of Lee Island Coast’s number one shopping attraction.

The Shell Factory changed owners, expanded through the intervening years, and then fell on hard times. Destined for bankruptcy in 1997, local businessman and visionary Tom Cronin decided the sixty-year old store was worthy of not only saving, but surpassing her former glory. A multimillion dollar renovation was only the beginning; the store has fulfilled its destiny by becoming a true shopping destination.
